Gordon V. Smith, Chairman Emeritus
Mr. Smith is a graduate of Harvard University
and has been in the valuation consulting business for over 40 years.
He advises clients on the value of intellectual property and closely-held
stock and consults in support of transactions, litigation and tax-related
matters.
He is the author of Trademark Valuation
and co-author of three editions of Valuation of Intellectual Property Intangible
Assets (translated into Japanese, Korean and Russian), and Intellectual Property:
Licensing and Joint Venture Profit Strategies, all published by John Wiley & Sons.
In addition, he has contributed to other books on the topic of intellectual property.
Intellectual Property: Valuation, Infringement Damages and Joint Venture Strategies,
also co-authored by Mr. Smith, was published in Spring 2005.
An active international lecturer, Mr. Smith is a member of the
International Trademark Association, the Licensing Executives Society and is Chair of
the Advisory Board of the Licensing Economics Review. He also serves as the technical
advisor for Grant Sherman Appraisal Ltd., Hong Kong and Beijing.
Mr. Smith is an adjunct professor
and member of the Board of Trustees of the University of New Hampshire School
of Law's Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property.
